Albert has always been outraged by the fact that many of our most valued commodities in the world, including coffee, are produced by people in some of the poorest conditions in the world. As head of Twin Trading, as part of the Cafédirect family and in his working life since he has worked in partnership with cooperatives and community leaders as partners working to change the way trade is done.
In his time with Cafédirect and Twin, he supported farmer leaders and managers to take leadership roles in Fairtrade and the coffee sector as equals. He worked to ensure that farmers understood the markets and sector they were selling into, how to generate assets, skills and capital, but also to invest in the development of their products and communities.
