Since our relationship with San Juan del Oro began back in 1998, through our Producer Partnership Programme, we have given constant advice and training on export systems and coffee quality and our partnership has secured pre-finance directly to the co-operative.
Various training workshops have been held, for example in the area of price risk management, marketing and exporting which enable members to gain valuable insights into the market.
Cafédirect has assisted in solving major problems at the co-operative brought on by a constant changes in board and management. Other PPP support has been in establishing harvest tools, cash-flows and management systems and training workshop for Board members on the market and exporting.

Cafédirect premiums to CAC San Juan del Oro have been used to fund projects which range from those that directly benefit the organisation, to those that bring impacts to the livelihoods of the farmers, their families and their communities.
Cafédirect’s premium payments have enabled farmers to invest in their own in-house coffee tasting laboratory where members work to ensure the quality of their beans is of the highest standard.
CAC San Juan del Oro have also used their premiums to modernise the organisation’s offices, repair roads in the community and support local schools
