Through the PPP, Cafédirect have assisted CECOVASA coffee farmers in improving the quality of their coffee by providing training and support in a number of areas.
For example, the PPP implemented a quality workshop programme with CECOVASA members which gave them the necessary tools to train their farmers in quality improvement techniques.
They also trained the receptionistas(individuals who receive the coffee from the farmer at the collection point) in how to visually assess the quality of the beans.

On 12 October 2007, CECOVASA won the 3rd Annual Premium Coffee Prize in Peru.
Sponsored by several national coffee organisations and judged by a panel of 5 Peruvian and 5 international coffee tasters, the prize went to one of CECOVASA's own organic blends. CECOVASA also won the prize on 2005, making this their second appearance at the top.
Miguel Paz, who received the prize on behalf of CECOVASA, said that the prize is "a triumph for Fairtrade that demands quality and pays a better price."
