Coffee Liquorer
While in most places coffee tasting is known as “cupping”, at KNCU, coffee tasting is called “Liquoring”.
Amen Mtui (pictured right) is the Coffee Liquorer at the cupping laboratory (known as the Liquoring Room) at KNCU. This laboratory was expanded and improved with the help of Cafédirect’s Producer Partnership Programme (PPP). In this laboratory, Amen roasts, grinds and assesses the coffee from the primary societies that supply KNCU.

Through our Producer Partnership Programme, training has been provided to members of KNCU in a number of areas. These include increasing awareness of Fairtrade and the Fairtrade market among members and training in Accounts and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
