Working with Cafédirect
Misozi is a new partner of ours which is owned and controlled by six individual Rwandan coffee cooperatives, with about 30% female membership.
These young organisations were mostly formed in the late 1990s as part of the rebuilding and reconciliation of Rwanda after the genocide - farmers from different backgrounds coming together to build better livelihoods for their families and communities.
Their farms are spread across the lush mountains of Rwanda. Farms are very small, with an average of about 300 coffee trees grown on less than one-sixth of a hectare.
Through our Producer Partnership Programme (PPP), we are currently working with Misozi members to strengthen their capacity as specialty coffee producers, and provide training and support as needed.
