fairtrade
it’s all
in the name
Fairtrade is about guaranteeing growers in developing countries a fair and stable price for their crops, in order to ensure that they can make a decent living.
It also provides an additional amount to be invested for social and economic development within grower organisations and/or for their local communities. This gives farmers and their families the chance to build a future without poverty. And it gives you the power to make it happen by choosing to shop differently. That’s Fairtrade.

In the UK, products produced and traded according to Fairtrade standards carry the Fairtrade Mark, shown below right. In the UK this is awarded by the UK certification body, the Fairtrade Foundation.
It’s your independent guarantee that the products you’re buying have been fairly traded and have met the agreed international standards.
