An abbreviation for the Spanish equivalent of “The Ecological Farmers of the Mountainous Forests of Chiapas, Mexico”, CESMACH is a co-operative of independent coffee farmers who live and work on a nature reserve called El Triunfo. Hidden deep in the cloud forests of south-western Mexico, the communities live in amongst more than 300 types of birds, as well as monkeys and lizards and work on the land in a way that protects their environment and benefits the community.
The incredible biodiversity of flora and fauna creates a very rich soil, which combined with the high altitude and temperate climate, provides the perfect conditions for the coffee beans which go into the award-winning Mayan Palenque Fresh Ground Coffee.
