With our premium decaffeinated instant we’ve cut the caffeine without any compromise on taste. Made from 100% organic Arabica beans that are gently decaffeinated, this aromatic coffee is roasted to give a rich, full flavour and smooth silky texture that you can enjoy at any time of day.
Organic coffee has another advantage beside its environmental and taste benefits, it can generate a premium price for our grower partners. The quality is always outstanding so with this crop everyone’s a winner – you, the farmer and the environment.
This Organic Decaffeinated Fairtrade Instant Coffee comes from the following coffee partners in Latin America and Africa:
FEDECARES, Union Majomut, Más Café, APROCASSI, CECOVASA, CAC Bagua Grande, La Frontera de San Ignacio, La Prosperidad de Chirinos, CAC San Juan del Oro, CAC Pangoa, Gumutindo.

Please can you make it clear the decaffeinating process on the packaging. I try to avoid solvent extraction , presumably organic wouldn’t use this process but consumers like more information so please supply . Thanks .
Thanks for your question. For our Freeze Dried instant coffee we use the CO2 method.
It is certified as organic by the Soil Association and we use the CO2 method to decaffeinate our organic products. This process uses pressurised CO2 and water to extract caffeine from the beans, so it does not involve any synthetic chemicals.
Another consideration around decaffeination is the environmental impact of the process itself. Based on our carbon footprint analysis we know that the chemical process has a lower carbon footprint than the CO2 process due to the amount of energy used. We continually monitor technological advances in this area and working in closely with our processing partners to ensure we can use the safest, healthiest, and most environmentally friendly processes.
The reason we do not have this info on the jar labels at present is because there is no room for it! We have a lot of information to fit in a tiny space and a lot of that is regulatory. It can also be confusing for people who do not understand the process properly and so, as we are confident in our process and happy to explain it such as in this case, we do not see the need for it to take up valuable space on our label.
I have however put this request into the hands of our brand team for them to consider it in any future pack changes.
Thanks for your feedback.
We have recently noticed that a brown scum appears at the rim of the cup/mug after mixing the coffee with water. This is a new development, and we just wondered if anything had changed in the processing of this particular product. This happens at various locations, so it is not the water. Otherwise, this is an excellent decaffeinated instant coffee. Thank you.
