For those who take their coffee fast, dark and intense – espresso is the way to go.
The home of the espresso is Milan. In the early 1900s, they found that forcing very hot water under pressure through high quality coffee produced a drink of intense flavours and aromas. Our espresso pays homage to that tradition. The blend is deliciously smooth and intriguingly velvety, it‘s dark roasted to deliver a full-bodied flavour explosion and if that sounds intense, just wait until you taste it. And, because we’re sticklers for every last detail, this blend delivers a little bit of froth on the top of each shot – known as the ‘crema’ – a sign of true quality.
We have also been told it makes a mean Espresso Martini – get the recipe.
This Fairtrade Espresso coffee comes from the following Latin American and African partners:

I am just a customer who happens to love your Espresso Coffee.
BUT,as my wife and I went shopping at Sainsburys in Hampden Park today, friday 15th July 2011, Eastbourne. Only to find that this particular product has been discontinued at this store and also you are the only supermarket in the whole of Eastbourne who sells this product. Please could you explain why you are no longer supplying this coffee to this store
I also like the Espresso coffee from Cafe Direct but our local Sainsbury’s in Stirling no longer seem to stock it. It disappeared from the shelves round about August/September. They also seem to have reduced the range of Cafe Direct products that they sell.
We are sorry to hear that you cannot get our espresso coffee from your local store. Although we work closely with Sainsbury’s to ensure that all of our customers have access to their favourite Cafedirect product, however the final decision on what they stock in each store is down to the Sainsbury’s team and sadly not us. I recommend that you speak to the store manager to find out why they no longer stock it and if they will re-stock it. In the meantime you can buy online at http://www.ethicalsuperstore.com/cafedirect
With regards to Sainsbury’s reducing our range, we recently gained some new listings in Sainsbury’s, in particular our delicious São Tomé Instant Hot Chocolate, but they did reduce the number of stores that some of our roast and ground coffees are stocked in. Overall our business with Sainsbury’s is growing, they are strong supporters of Fairtrade and we will continue to work with them to ensure Cafedirect products are available to as many people as possible.
