doing our bit..............

Since 2005, Cafédirect has partnered with Forum for the Future to help us develop a comprehensive sustainability strategy.

food miles
All of our raw coffee, tea and cocoa travels by sea and not air. We also ship only full containers to maximise fuel efficiency and continually strive to make our supply chain more efficient.

energy
We track our usage and continually minimise it with an internal office campaign.

packaging
We consider the environmental impact of our packing important and it is under continual review. In 2006, for example, we changed our tea boxes from double to single-walled, resulting in 470 trees being saved. Stay tuned for some exciting changes to come in 2010!

waste
Though office waste is a minimul part of our overall environmental footprint, we still walk our talk. In 2008 we recycled 63% of our waste and have since begun composting all organic material from the office (as you can imagine, we go through lots of tea bags and coffee grounds).

business partners

We are currently working to include environmental performance requirements into all our new contracts.

employees
We encourage our employees to use public transport and we use hybrid taxis whenever possible. We also participate in bike and rail pass loan scheme.
